Our Class reading novel for Spring 1
Poor Rhodopis! She has nothing – no mother or father, and no friends. She is a slave, from the far-off country of Greece. Only the beautiful rose-red slippers her master gives her can make Rhodopis smile. So when a falcon swoops down and snatches one of the slippers away, Rhodipis is heartbroken. For how is she to know that the slipper will land in the lap of the great Pharoah himself? And who would ever guess that the Pharoah has promised to find the slipper’s owner and make her queen of all Egypt?
Our Class reading novel for Spring 2
On a mean street in a mean city, a thief tries to snatch an old woman’s bag. But she finds she can’t have it without promising something in return – to “plant them all”. When it turns out the bag is full of acorns, the young thief embarks on a journey that changes her own life and the lives of others for generations to come. Inspired by the belief that a relationship with nature is essential to every human being, and that now, more than ever, we need to renew that relationship.

Recapping area through same day interventions and making shapes.

We started our Emotional literacy interventions. It is lovely to see those smiles and excitement from working with Miss Lloyd, our trained ELSA.

Some super home learning that we have seen in year 4.

Along with putting our mummification instructions to the test. We first mummified a tomato and then one of our own pupils. Oh no!! How will he get out?

During Children’s Mental health awareness week we focused on #findyourbrave. We created a beautiful bunting to highlight why each and every one of us is unique.

Some of year 4 also picked up a new role of guardian angels. They cast their eyes on the playground and corridors each day to look out for other children in need of a chat, a friend or sometimes just a friendly smile.

A variety of electrical circuits are used to make a clown with a nose that lights up and a bow tie that spins. Children use a range of components that include wire, batteries, buzzers, lights and switches.
