Parish Community

We are fortunate that our beautiful parish church is just half a mile from school.  We are able to visit church for school masses, finding things out in our RE lessons and for joining in parish celebrations.

Our parish is made up of 2 churches, St Mary’s Failsworth and Holy Family.

Mass at Holy Family is at 11.15am each Sunday.

Canon Michael Job is our parish priest who is supported by Father Celestine.  Both Canon Michael and Father Celestine are regular visitors to school and celebrate Mass with the children on the first Wednesday of every month.

Bee Together Community Garden

Behind Holy Family Church, Canon Michael and the parishoners have created a communit garden in response to Pope Francis’ environmental encyclical Laudato Si. You can watch a short video about the Pope’s message by clicking here.

Pauline Riley, parishoner and parish coordinator, explained: “At the Bee Together Community Centre and Garden, we try to protect and encourage biodiversity by striving to maintain a natural balance. We grow organically and our hard working bees, under the supervision of Catharine Charnock, help to pollinate the crops. We have also been looking at ways to reduce waste, to increase recucling and posting, we reuse rainwater, and have dedicated a corner of our garden to rewilding.”
